Modular buildings, also referred to as prefabricated homes or precision built houses, are built to equivalent or higher standards as on-site stick-built houses. The building method is known as permanent modular structure.
The buildings are 60% to 90% finished offsite in a factory-controlled environment, and transported and assembled at the last construction website. This can comprise the whole building or be components or subassemblies of bigger structures. Oftentimes, modular contractors work with conventional general contractors to exploit the resources and advantages of each form of construction. Completed modules are transported to the building site and assembled by a crane. Positioning of the modules can take from several hours to several days.
Substance for pole built and modular houses are the same. First, modular houses don't have axles or a metallic framework, meaning that they are typically transported on flat-bed trucks. Modular buildings have to conform to all applicable local building codes, whereas doublewides and mobile homes have metal under framing.

Modular buildings and modular homes are prefabricated buildings or houses that consist of recurrent sections called modules. "Modular" is a building method that involves constructing sections away from the construction site, then delivering them to the intended website. Setup of these prefabricated sections is finished on site. Prefabricated sections are occasionally placed using a crane. The modules can be set side-by-side, end-to-end, or stacked, allowing an assortment of styles and configurations.
Permanent modular buildings are designed to meet or surpass the same construction standards and codes as site-built structures and also the same architect-specified substances used in conventionally constructed buildings are used in modular building projects. Modular components are generally constructed inside on assembly lines. Modules' construction may take as few as ten days but more often a few weeks. PMC modules could be integrated into website built projects or stand alone and may be delivered with MEP, fixtures and interior finishes.
The entire process of modular construction puts significance on the design stage. It is crucial that there's sufficient allowance in the design to enable the assembly to take up any"slack" or misalignment of elements. The usage of advanced CAD systems, 3D printing and manufacturing control systems are important for modular structure to be successful. This is very unlike on-site construction where the tradesman can often make the part to match any specific installation.
